Governing Body

The main roles of the Governing Body are:

 

  • To provide a strategic view:  To help decide on the strategy to improve teaching and learning at the school.
  • To act as a critical friend:  To ask challenging questions so as to keep everyone concerned with the education of our young people on their toes.  To be a friend and supporter of the staff and children as they work hard to get on with the teaching and learning.
  • To ensure accountability  The Headteacher and the staff report to the Governors so that they know what is happening in the school and can monitor and evaluate the work of the school.  The Governors then report to parents.

  • Pastoral and Organisation
  • Standards
  • Disciplinary
  • Pay Committee
  • Complaints Committee
