Humanties
Humanities - History, Geography and RE
Students follow National Curriculum courses at both Key Stage Two and Three. The course is modular with unts of History, Geography, and Religious Education which change rougly each half term.
Each module has an assessment and progression is shown through the Humanities courses. Teachers use a variety of teaching styles and help to develop student's independent research skills.
Students receive three hours of Humanities each week in Years 6, 8 and 9 and four hours in Year 7.
Students in Years 6 and 7 are also taught ICT by Humanities staff. In Year 6 student follow the National Curriculum Scheme of lessons, while in Year 7 ICT skills are mainly taught through the medium of Humanities.
